We are seeking a Data Scientist Manager to join our Commercial Data Products team to assist the Director of Data Products with a strong data science and data engineering capability that allows Nine to provide a superior and more agile solution to the redevelopment of its Data Products and large client engagements. 

Day to day you will:

• Maximise the use of Nine’s 1st Party data attributes to deliver on innovative ways to meet our changing data needs to satisfy external data shares 
• Extract data from multiple data sources in GCP (BigQuery) and/or AWS and shape into meaningful improvements to Data Products and insights products
• Support the wider Data Team in the rebuild of Nine’s customer segmentation tool - 9Tribes 
• Work closely with the Business Applications and Data Engineering team (technology team) to deliver on the data product roadmap
• Provide data science and data engineering guidance and advice to the Director of Data Products in the support of Nine enterprise data shares to agency groups and data partners
• Make recommendations to adapt existing data product processes to drive commercial data revenues
• Assist in technical reviews of Nine’s Data Clean room strategy for onboarding advertiser data

You are a self-starter with superior technical skills that can provide guidance and advice on the latest methodologies to drive change amongst the Nine Data Products.

What we would like to see on your resume:

• 5+ year’s experience in a technical role (Data Scientist, data engineer or equivalent)
• Self-starter who can work in an ambiguous fast paced environment
• Passion for data and strong understanding of digital attributes
• Strong business acumen to understand and communicate business impacts from technical decisions
• Superior data science and data engineering skills
• Strong Python programming skills. Most of the data pipelines developed by the Data Engineering team are written in Python. 
• Excellent SQL knowledge Familiarity with cloud services (GCP and/or AWS) mainly around storage and database services
• Experience across Karlsgate, Snowflake, Liveramp would be highly regarded but not essential
