Our client is an industry leader within the Telecommunications domain. They are currently looking out for a Big Data Solution Designer for an initial 12-month fixed term contract. In this role, you would be responsible for defining and building the Data Platform Architecture principles to support the implementation of future cloud platforms.
About the role
You would be involved in:
- Have an end-to-end vision and see how a logical design will translate into process & data solutions through the layered architecture within the DPM landscape and Cloud providers application ecosystem.
- Deliver, manage, and govern Solution Designs implementation patterns, frameworks, standards and best practices for the data technology eco-system.
- Concurrently work across multiple DPM projects, providing direction to delivery teams regarding architecture, solution & design for initiatives.
- Perform Detailed Solution Designs, Impact Assessments, Costings and Timelines. Contribute in Delivery planning, technical & solution risk managements.
- Strong solution architecture, design (implementation/consulting) experience
- Hands-on experience as data engineer/solution designer specialising in Big Data related solutions.
- Design and implementation experience in data related solutions involving data ingestion (real time and batch code), stitching, data collection and processing including curation.
- Design and implementation experience with building analytical solutions using commercial data platforms.
- Big Data - Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Spark
- Spark Streaming, Apache Kafka
