MS SQL DBA - NV1 - Canberra

We are seeking an MS SQL DBA to work on a program that comprises of an ecosystem of user interfaces, reporting and business intelligence tools that enable users to manage, view and interrogate data relating to programs, projects and domains and a range of other Defence capabilities.
This Portfolio includes responsibility for maintenance, support and business intelligence capability for the solution.
As part of a sustainment and enhancement program of work focussing on continuous improvement, business intelligence and reporting, and requires the skills of an experienced Business Analyst with experience in a similar environment.
The Database Administrator will work under general direction t and. duties will include:
- Administration, monitoring, configuration, upgrade and install Microsoft SQL Server databases to support and includes the delivery of service using:
- Performance of regular and database backups, and ensure backups will support recovery needs
- Maintain the performance and availability of databases that store information for the program;
- Develop and maintain procedures and documentation for the databases;
- Provide advice, guidance and assistance and support to other team members, APS and third parties as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Portfolio Performance Management team and other Investment Portfolio Management Branch members to deliver outcomes.
- Develop and maintain professional, respectful and positive relationships with users, product owners, and suppliers across the Groups.
- Highly effective in managing multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk.
- Contribute to a harmonious team environment that fosters innovation, creativity, and team collaboration to deliver project outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members, APS and third parties as required
- Monitor and the ability to troubleshoot any Database Replication issues
- Sound knowledge in SQL Server performance features such as In-Memory OLT
- Design and implement changes to databases to support new information requirements.
- Experience in SSIS, SSRSEvaluate and Develop Data Analysis models and procedures
- At least 5 year’s recent experience as a Database Administrator
- SQL Server performance features such as In-Memory OLT
- Experience in SSIS, SSRS
- Develop Data Analysis models and procedures\
- Experience delivering these services within a Commonwealth Government environment
- Extensive Database Administrator experience developing documentation for development teams.
- Experience with Reporting Tools such as Cognos 11
