Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney’s third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
- Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
- Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
- Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
In line with the above, ACCIONA are now looking for a Database Engineer to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project.
Your role will be to support the quality and commissioning function within the mechanical and electrical team with the setup, maintenance, and administration of the project’s Completions System with an interface role with the project’s design relational database.
Specific Tasks Include
- Support the Completions Database Lead with the setup and configuration of the Completions Database.
- Assist the project Design Database team and Completions database provider with the facilitation of APIs to enable the systems to automate updates to ensure the most up to date data is utilised to generate project test records.
- Conduct regular audits of the Completions database to ensure functionality and accuracy of the output data reporting.
- provide day to day support to the Quality Team as the Database Administrator for the project’s quality completion software package which has been designed to manage completion’s records for the Quality and Commissioning team.
- Assist the project management team with report production for progress, defect; and cable management reports.
- Actively seek improvements at all points in the process from data creation to entry and classification by recommending adjustments to the Engineering Database, Completions Software, etc., which may provide better outcomes and improvements to the project and future projects.
Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications and Experience
- Strong understanding of data management.
- Highly proficient in Excel, PowerBi and familiarity with report extraction utilising SQL.
- Ability to recognize significant gaps in data sets or specific issues.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge, highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, able to assist the team with training, how to guides and queries.
