Database & Gis Manager

Iron Cove Global is currently supporting a listed gold exploration company to engage a Database and Geographic Information Science (GIS) specialist to assist the business in achieving its international gold exploration objectives.
  
The GIS & Database Manager will be required to use advanced database interrogation skills to create interpretative data sets, queries, data visualisations and reports. These efforts directly contribute to the capture, development, and presentation of scientific intellectual property developed by the team during the exploration process.
  
Key responsibilities will include:

• Modelling, interrogating and resolving complex geological datasets in order to make new contributions to discovery objectives;
• Facilitate, demonstrate and communicate team advances in understanding geological systems being explored;
• Read and apply knowledge within geological technical and research papers, applying new approaches and techniques to company data sets;
• Assist in the creation and reporting of new intellectual property being developed via the combined efforts of the team.
• Utilise satellite imagery and geophysical, geochemical and mineralogical data to ensure best-practice decision-making in regard to company GIS and team exploration activities.

The chosen candidate will hold:

• Tertiary Degree qualification in Geoscience discipline;
• Postgraduate qualifications in GIS and/or data science;
• High-level skills with GIS database software;
• Prior experience developing and managing advanced databases and GIS operating systems;
• High-level analytical and visualisation skills with strong attention to detail;
• Prior experience in mineral exploration is highly desirable;
• Sound communication, team working and collaborative aptitude;
• Enthusiastic to make a strong impact towards mineral discovery with a busy Australian explorer.
