You will have extensive experience of formulating, developing and launching new products for the construction industry, with an emphasis on repair concrete mortars and grouts.
Reporting to the National Technical Manager you will be responsible for:
- Conducting R&D activities for water-based Flooring Adhesives for use with carpet, vinyl, timber floorings and light flooring finishes.
- Partnering with the Marketing and Product Managers, to develop new products and improve existing product performance
- Managing projects/timelines for raw materials, product issues and new product development
- Leading regular project review meetings with the National Technical Manager and other functional areas (i.e. Marketing, Quality Control, Technical, Production).
- Formulating, developing and evaluating adhesive products for a variety of end-users, utilising professional chemical background and accepted company and industry procedures and techniques, in line with specific project requirements. Project goals may require oversight or coordination of field trials, and/or participation in manufacturing scale up activities.
- The successful candidate will be expected to show enthusiasm, creativity, a keenness to learn new skills and the ability to apply themselves in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- MS or Ph. D in Chemistry, or Bachelor’s in Chemistry with relevant industry experience.
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in formulation of water-based adhesive products is essential and ideally within flooring products environment.
- A consistent and sustained track record of successful product development and improvement.
- The ability to manage and move forward several projects simultaneously (project management and prioritization)
- Excellent business judgment; is decisive with strong influencing skills.
- The ability to work as an experienced professional only with the necessary direct supervision.
- Be results driven and self-motivated.
- Effective writing and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Internet.
- Excellent time management, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent listening and team building skills.
- Availability to travel (10-20%). Minimal over-night travel may be required on occasions
