We currently have exciting opportunities across our Deal Advisory division at the Analyst and Executive/Senior Consultant level.

Debt Advisory Services

Borrowers need to realistically appraise the nature of their present banking relationships, evaluate alternatives, understand their true cost of capital, and approach debt in the context of an effective overall capital management strategy. Our Debt Advisory Services team supports clients to appraise the nature of their present banking relationships, evaluate alternatives, understand their true cost of capital, and approach debt in the context of an effective overall capital management strategy.

Strategy

Our Strategy team help clients solve their most complex problems and make clear strategic choices that set them up to execute with confidence and deliver results. We bring together a range of disciplines in a diverse and multidisciplinary team to support strategies that are grounded in rigorous analysis, actionable insight, stakeholder perspectives and industry experience.

Transaction Services

Our Transaction Services practice is made up of passionate people who offer high-quality clear-eyed analysis, strategic focus and disciplined execution to help clients renew and transform their enterprises. The team are recognised leaders in modelling and provides a range of services covering strategy modelling, deal modelling, operational modelling and MI, corporate planning and budgeting, and Supplier evaluation.

Valuations

Companies require reliable valuations to underpin transactions for transactions, tax, accounting, and financial reporting reasons. Our Valuation Services group offers technically sound, commercially focused independent valuations for specific client needs. Our forward-thinking and strategic team help clients formulate appropriate business objectives and strategies, tailored to individual client needs.

Mergers and Acquisitions

KPMG’s M&A practice is one of the largest and most successful M&A businesses in Australia with an enviable list of completed transactions across a broad range of industries including technology, consumer markets, healthcare, industrial markets and mining (services). Our M&A practice prides itself on providing independent corporate advisory services across a range of transactions including acquisitions, divestments, mergers, takeovers and capital raisings.

Financial Modelling

KPMG’s Financial Modelling team helps clients build bespoke financial, business and cost models that are flexible, robust, accurate and easy-to-use. Our team creates clear reports that can deliver tangible business benefits. Financial modelling assists the decision-making process for investment appraisals, transactions and deals, operational performance improvement and monitoring, financial restructuring and costing and pricing.

Restructuring Services

KPMG's Restructuring Services team sits within the Deals, Tax and Legal division helping clients across a diverse range of industries confronted with difficult challenges to improve and restore value.

Enterprise Deal Advisory

We can help clients get the most value out of a deal by providing objective advice across all stages of the transaction – from strategy development and target identification to implementation. We also work with clients to evaluate financing options and structure debt solutions that give them the financial flexibility they need to deliver on their growth plans.

Your Experience

We are seeking individuals at the Analyst, Associate, Senior Associate and Executive level to join our Deal Advisory team, with the below skillsets:

Debt Advisory

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or similar, with a strong academic record and ability to commence / continue relevant post graduate studies (CFA, CA, Master’s in Finance)
  • Preference for current experience in securitisation transactions from a client facing role within a major Bank, Advisory firm, Investment Bank or commercial environment
  • Ambition and passion for a career in the commercial environment and corporate finance.

Transaction Services

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce or similar, with a strong academic record and ability to commence / continue relevant post graduate studies (CFA, CA, Master’s in Finance)
  • A degree in Commerce or Finance and/or a professional accounting or finance qualification is expected and one to three years’ experience in a valuation or similar commercial environment will be beneficial
  • Transactions Services or Audit experience is highly advantageous.

Valuations

  • Experience in excel-based financial analysis and advantageous if you have financial modelling capabilities
  • A degree in Commerce or Finance and/or a professional accounting or finance qualification is expected and one to three years’ experience in a valuation or similar commercial environment will be beneficial.

Strategy

  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, and structured thinking skills combined with creativity
  • Strong numerical capabilities combined with sound commercial acumen, with the ability to review and assess large volumes of technical data and distil the key strategic insights
  • Experience working for a recognised consulting firm, or central strategy/corporate development team.

Financial Modelling

  • Demonstrated experience building complex financial models supporting infrastructure or M&A transactions, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, law, economics, engineering or other relevant subjects and have outstanding academic transcripts
  • Relevant professional experience likely gained in a Chartered Accounting firm, law firm, management consultancy, engineering consultancy, corporate advisor, investment bank, project finance team of a commercial bank, infrastructure fund, construction firm or within Government
  • Relevant experience with M&A transactions and/or major projects, such as in the transport, social infrastructure, energy, mining, resources, or property sectors.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Diversified M&A transaction experience preferably within a Big 4, corporate development team and/or investment banking/boutique firm
  • A degree in business, commerce/accounting or a relevant discipline including CA and/or CFA qualifications
  • Ability to help lead the day-to-day execution of a full cycle M&A transaction
  • Exceptional networking and client skills coupled with the ability to identify business opportunities and develop engagement pipelines.

Enterprise Deals Advisory

  • A degree in Commerce or Finance and ideally a professional accounting qualification
  • Strong technical skills backed by a commercial flair and ability to interpret financial models
  • Experience of data & analytics in a deal context.

Restructuring Services

  • CA qualification or working towards completion, and degree in business, commerce/accounting or a relevant discipline
  • Exposure to informal turnaround or restructuring engagements
  • Prior insolvency experience across the range of formal appointments
  • Proficiency in using Excel to interpret data and generate insights.

Please note, the salary ranges $80k - $100k+ with respect to your level of experience.
