About the role
We are searching for a Defence Business Development Leader to join the team and to partner with our Defence customer. The role will be responsible for leading Defence bids and projects, including being the primary representative with Defence; managing the delivery of Defence contract requirements; preparing necessary project reports; and leading Defence captures, including preparing bids and proposals.
The role will require someone who is highly motivated, who can operate effectively with limited supervision and is a strong team player. This role will suit someone who wants to contribute to sustainable aviation and to supporting our Defence industry.
About you
The knowledge, skills and experience best suited to this role include:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 7 years' experience as a Capture Manager / Bid Manager / Business Development Lead in the defence industry, including the management of engineering personnel preferably working on aerospace projects.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in project management in the Defence or in allied industries (e.g. Defence Contractors)
- Great interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven experience in writing bids, developing capture strategies, leading and writing proposals and managing Defence projects.
- Eligibility for Defence security clearance
Competitive remuneration is on offer. The role will be based in Bankstown airport but travel to meet the requirements of the role may be required, including to our flight test locations in regional NSW.
