Defence Projects Planner

EM Solutions (EMS) is a Brisbane based growing high tech company with operations across the globe. As a world leader in the design and manufacture of “on-the-move” satellite communication terminals, we are offering an exciting and innovative workplace with a talented workforce. 

We are now seeking for an experienced Projects Planner to map out and forecast all stages of our Defence Projects manufacturing by working closely with SOTM delivery leads and Defence Project Managers.

Duties & Responsibilities:         

• Manage and track terminal builds from purchasing to completion
• Work with various line functions to ensure successful delivery
• Update project schedule and develop reliable forecast for the project team
• Work closely with the production team to ensure the project and production schedules align
• Evaluate, analyze risks and issues compromising project results and develop plans to mitigate them
• Ensure that the Purchasing Manager is aware of milestones relating to Defence Projects
• Maintain exceptional communication with internal stakeholders across engineering, production, and programmes
• Seek, suggest, and implement process improvements for our operations, particularly relating to terminal builds and testing
• Track and document systems progress across manufacturing
• Assist in ensuring production downtime is kept to a minimum

• Project management skills such as planning, monitoring, coordinating and prioritising
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication, motivational and interpersonal skills
• MS Office Suite experience 

Necessary experience:

• Previous project management and/or planning experience
• At least five (5) years in a technology role, preferably with previous SATCOM or Electronics experience
• At least two (2) years previous leadership experience managing teams
• Experience in manufacturing environment would be an advantage
• Possession of, or the ability to qualify for, an Australian defence security clearance (baseline minimum, NV1 preferred)
