Motivated individuals with previous proven experience in retail deli work and/or with a broad knowledge of fine gourmet ingredients, cheese and other delicacies would be highly regarded.
Experience is desired but but not essential as we offer on-the-job training. This position may suit a chef who is looking at stepping away from the kitchen.
THE ROLE
• Assisting with the day-to-day running of the deli section ensuring that customer service excellence is maintained at all times
• Cutting cheese and charcuterie, using scales, slicing machine use and all that comes with running a busy deli
• Customer service and interaction via Deli counter and the shop floor
• Ensuring the high standard of fresh produce merchandising & store presentation
• Simple food preparation & packaging
• Cabinet setup and close-down
• Monitoring stock quality & customer satisfaction
ABOUT YOU
• You must be available at least 1x day of the weekend
• Have previous deli (or similar work) experience
• Have a flair for addressing customer enquiries responsively, politely and in a helpful manner
• A focus on Safety & OHS Procedures & the ability to follow them
• Excel in problem-solving skills & attention to detail
• Have strong communication skills
• Have an eye for quality and presentation
• Be a team player
• Possess leadership skills (desirable)
• Have an R.S.A or willingness to obtain
• Take pride in your personal appearance and presentation
• Must have proven experience and/or willingness to learn
