AddressA Casual position as a Dental Assistant/has become available at our holistic dental practice.
-Immediate start if employed
-16+ hours per week
You will work with our dental team to sterilise and clean the dental tools and environment.
Duties include:
-Running of the practice (i.e. starting-up/shutting-down the surgery and steriroom)
-Performing vacuum and helix tests on the sterilisation machine/ultrasonic run test
-Running the sterilisation machine at the appropriate times
-Preparing the surgery room and patient trays for each appointment
-Disinfecting the surgery room and after each appointment
-Scrubbing and pouching instruments after each appointment
-Assembly/disposal of surgical instruments
-Regularly checking inventory of sterile disposables such as needles, gauze, syringes and disposable kits, and notifying management when orders need to be placed.
-Final clean of the surgery and steriroom after the last patient
-Other duties as required by the dentist
The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:
-Able to multitask & prioritize
-Not afraid of challenges
-Punctual & good time management skills
-Co-operative & willing to learn
Hours will vary according to the requirements of the patient booking schedule. You will likely work on weekends but training will be during the week until independent. However, training for this position may require 2 days per week, and run over several weeks, depending on the progress of the training.
