About the Opportunity
We’re seeking a Dental Assistant to support and assist our Dental clinicians in the provision of high quality oral health services at the Broken Hill Health Service. In addition to four-handed chair side assistance, you will also provide clerical and administrative duties for the clinics to ensure efficient management of Dental service across the Far West Local Health District.
You will get the exciting opportunity to help deliver oral health promotion activities to children, adults & community groups and participate in the provision of outreach services in a variety of clinical settings in Far West NSW; this will be by travel in a motor vehicle and may require overnight stays. How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or equivalent work experience. Dental Assisting Certificate IV required for appointment at Grade 2.
- Certificate III in Sterilisation Services or demonstrated capacity and commitment to work toward achieving this qualification.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate well to adults, children and other health professionals.
- Demonstrated experience in infection control, instrument reprocessing and dental assisting.
- Demonstrated ability to plan own work, manage priorities, use initiative and to problem solve.
- Effective computer skills for communication and use of dental patient administration and management systems (eg: Titanium). Proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
- Class C drivers licence with the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes.
