The Dental Therapist/Oral Health Therapist, primary objective is the delivery of high quality, clinically and culturally appropriate and effective Oral Health Services to eligible groups in Central Australia in accordance with Oral Health Service Central Australia (OHSCA) policies, procedures and guidelines. You are also required to be involve in planning and implementation of the children’s Oral Health and Oral Health promotion programs in remote Aboriginal Communities as well as urban settings in Central Australia. The position is based in Alice Springs Northern Territory.
You will undertake administrative duties required for the efficient operation of the service, including managing appointment schedules and actively participate in quality improvement activities including accreditation and staff development program. You will also ensure clinical and corporate records are maintained, including accurate documentation and statistics.
You are required to follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces. You will be required to have the ability to travel and stay in remote communities to deliver clinical services when required and foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of Oral Health services, community education programs and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
