As the Dental Trainer for the Dental House Group you will be responsible for onboarding and developing new staff and providing ongoing training and mentoring within the group . A typical day of work for a trainer involves conducting both theory and hands-on style training; evaluating training progress; communicating concerns and ideas involved with training; and providing five-star customer service and patient care throughout.
Responsibilities:
- Leads with Dental House Group values, embeds and behaviorally exemplifies the company’s core values
- Provides outstanding customer service to the patient with an excellent chair side manner and front office customer service
- Takes directions from Principal Dentist, Operations Manager and Practice Manager
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Follows organisation’s safety policies and procedures
- Partners with dentists, hygienists, leaders, and support staff to maintain excellent patient service and integrity within the organisation
- Provides training to all new Dental Assistants and Front Office Coordinators
- Provides ongoing training, mentoring and support to all staff
- Conducts competency reviews and delivers reports to Management
- Assists with Accreditation documentation and QIP
- Dental Assisting and Front Office tasks as required
- Travel to various Dental House Group locations in the Western region of Melbourne
Additional functions
- Require leadership in the assisting and administration department
- Directing and participating in assisting planning
- Anticipating training needs for Dental Assistants/Front Office Coordinators by looking at the schedule the next day
- Constant communication with co-workers throughout the day.
- Sound knowledge of Dental House Group phone Scripts and Standards and coaching co workers about importance of following the scripts
- Sound knowledge of Radiographic equipment for high quality radiographs with proper techniques for training purposes
- Lead by example; exercise good team work; have mutual respect for team; partner with team to create an exceptional experience for patients.
- Perform efficient and accurate procedures to help maintain dentist’s schedule and patient flow; create “no patient wait time;” maintain time flexibility for patients; be present, engaged, ready to work at all assigned shift times.
- Have knowledge and understanding of dental terminology sufficient to perform job successfully

- Office audits to meet clinical operation standards
- Assist operations while on site to maximize profitability
- Communicate training progress to Practice Manager
- Support format and creation position specific content
- Mentor and support lead dental assistants
- Support training needs post launch of new practice
- Assist with setting up new practices ready for opening
- Assists with Marketing tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Minimum 5 + years DA and administration experience OR
- 2 years Lead dental assisting experience, and/or 2 years of Dental assisting teaching experience, preferred
- Computer skills in Dental 4 Windows software
- Professional manner and appearance at all times
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to train and coach multiple people effectively
