About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic applicant for the role of Deputy Commissioner – Commissioning and Programs for a five-year fixed term appointment.
About the role
The Deputy Commissioner Commissioning and Programs reports to the Commissioner and is responsible for service and program development and commissioning to ensure the delivery of contemporary, high quality and well-integrated prevention, treatment and community support services. Quality stakeholder and service provider engagement is integral this role, with this position overseeing the Service Delivery Agreements with WA Health and Health Service Providers, and community contracts with non-government organisations for mental health and alcohol and other drug services and Programs. This position is responsible for ensuring the MHC is Commissioning and delivering mental health and alcohol and other drug services and Programs that meet the needs of the community and fill crucial gaps across the spectrum of prevention, early intervention, harm reduction, community and bed-based treatment and support services.
The role is responsible for strategic leadership of the Prevention, Treatment and Community Support Services Divisions and the Next Step Drug and Alcohol Treatment Services. The Deputy Commissioner Commissioning and Programs is a member of the MHC’s Senior Executive Group, with collective responsibility for the overall performance and compliance of the MHC.
A focus of the role for the first year will be overseeing the seamless transition of the Next Step Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service from the MHC to the East Metropolitan Health Service, as well as the establishment of a commissioning framework to ensure continued service provision under the new governance arrangements.
