About the Job
This is a leadership role within Children’s Ground Learning and Wellbeing team that will involve on country delivery/learning and support to a team of Educators who work across multiple locations in Central Australia. It will require a degree and min. 5 years teaching experience. An appreciation or experience in alternative education such as immersion schooling, bilingual education, Montessori or Steiner would be beneficial.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Oversight development and maintenance of individualised learning plans
- Observe and document student's growth
- Maintain safe physical learning environments
- Staff management and support to members of the Learning and Wellbeing team
- Leadership planning and strategy
- Work with First Nations governance to plan learning session delivery each term
- Support and guide integrated service delivery across learning, health, community development and creative arts
- Local community development, meet with community and elders to discuss local educational aspirations
- Quality and risk management
- Coordinate joint learning initiatives with relevant organisations and schools
- Quarterly reporting
About You
We are seeking an innovative educator who has experience with First Nations communities and a deep understanding of the challenges and strengths of First Nations Peoples. A degree or recognised qualification in Early Years or Primary Education along with 5 years teaching experience. An appreciation or experience of alternative education approaches would be beneficial. The role requires a strong organiser with experience in curriculum and resource development who can work collaboratively in a demanding NGO. You need to be comfortable working regularly in outdoor conditions and have a full driver’s licence.
