The RoleThe Tasmanian Health Service - Hospitals South is seeking interest for the position of Deputy Manager - Acute Services. The successful application will work alongside Deputy Managers in the Rehabilitation and Community Occupational Therapy teams to assist the Discipline Lead Occupational Therapy with the leadership and management of the Occupational Therapy Service.The Deputy Manager - Acute Services is responsible for the efficient and effective functioning of occupational therapists, diversional therapists and allied health assistants working in multi-disciplinary teams within the medical, surgical and women's and children's streams.

Interested persons are encouraged to make contact to hear more about this exciting role.The ServiceThe Occupational Therapy Service includes over 90 team members consisting of occupational therapists and assistants, play specialists, diversional therapists, carpenter, and administration officers.   • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary$131,070 - $134,268 pro rata per annum + our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1,000 per annum.
  • Salary range is in accordance with Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No.2 of 2022
EligibilitySuccessful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
  • Post-graduate studies in Occupational Therapy, public health, or health services leadership or management or other related area.
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted: * Conviction checks in the following areas:
  • crimes of violence

  • serious drug offences
