Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is now accepting applications for a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join their leadership team as Deputy Principal. This is a temporary full-time position commencing 15 April 2024 until 21 June 2024, unless otherwise determined.

About Us:
Fortitude Valley State Secondary College is the first school to be opened in the inner city Brisbane in over 50 years. Our school opened in 2020 with 140 Year 7 students and currently has 720 students enrolled in years 7 to 11. Our first Year 12 cohort will graduate in 2025.

About the Role:
We are looking for a Deputy Principal who has strong leadership and engagement skills to maintain positive community links and develop partnerships that are critical to the success of the school.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Delivering the vision of the department.
  • Improving the educational outcomes of students in our school.
  • Developing the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders.
You will be an agile leader with a record of success in leading school improvement. As an instructional leader, you will be focused on developing students who are problem-solvers with decision-making agility and risk-taking skills who can move into the future with confidence and resilience.
This is a new position created through the growth of the school. Specific roles and responsibilities will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Please note that the campus does not have on-site parking. Candidates will need to consider options for public transport or paid parking facilities. The area is well-serviced by public bus and rail and the school includes end-of-trip facilities including showers, lockers and bicycle storage.
