With continual growth and diversification, we are currently seeking a Deputy Project Manager to join our Bibra Lake office.
Reporting to the Project Director, the Deputy Project Manager will support the successful delivery of the project and help lead the Integrated Project Team (IPT). This role will include responsibility for costs, schedule, performance requirements, and for ensuring that the project satisfies the requirements of the contract.
The Deputy Project Manager will be a point of contact throughout the project and will maintain effective communication between the customer and Birdon and other subcontractors and suppliers as required. The Deputy Project Manager will support all contract matters and for resolution of significant issues (in accordance with Birdon’s governance framework and issue escalation process).
Key Accountabilities:
- Strong project management practitioner, responsible for input into project schedule, cost and quality including development and monitoring of project
- Ensure delivery of commercial and contractual commitments through strong stakeholder management that enhance the reputation of Birdon.
- Be intimately familiar with contract requirements and deliverables, ensuring project management deliverables are met.
- Provide regular reporting to the project Leadership Team.
- Oversee compliance with the contract master schedule, scope of works, and monitor progress of members of the IPT, including subcontractors.
Essential:
- At least 10 years’ experience delivering complex, high- value projects in the marine industry
- At least 5 years’ experience in high-value contract management for government or Defence clients
- Formal training in project management, asset management, and/or tertiary qualification in business management/administration.
- Experience in contract management for Defence projects
- Experience managing a large team of people, including subcontractors
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Defence Procurement Guidelines and Contracting processes
- Formal training in team leadership and/or people management
- Formal training / demonstrable experience with project management software such as Open Plan Professional, Microsoft Project or other relevant program.
- Experience in contract management for Defence projects over $100 million
