DERMATOLOGY RESEARCH TRIAL COORDINATOR

The Dermatology Research Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of the major Dermatology clinical trial centres in Australia. It is part of RMH Dermatology, the tertiary referral centre for North-Western Melbourne and rural Victoria. We are currently running over 20 clinical trials for inflammatory and autoimmune skin disease as well as non-melanoma skin cancers.
Your new role
- The Coordinator will work as part of a team conducting single-centre and multi-centre research.
- The team at the RMH includes Associate Professor Ross, Head of Dermatology Research, Principal Investigators, Research Nurses, Clinical Trials Fellows, a Research Office Admin Manager, and works closely with the team of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Office for Research.
- Our research group collaborates with other centres in Australia and overseas in multi-centre research projects.
- Be involved in all aspects of clinical trial activity, including screening and recruitment of participants, efficiently organising patient visits and admissions, taking pathology samples (subject to qualifications) and other necessary investigations as per trial protocol and managing participant databases.
About you
- Registration as a Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Highly developed computer-literacy and ability to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proven experience to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team
- Demonstrated provision of high-quality patient care
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Developed problem solving and prioritisation skills
- High motivation and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High level of reliability and professional conduct
- Knowledge of research principals, methodologies and processes
- Good knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and how a clinical trial study operates
- Preferred experience in venepuncture
