Stroke Research Nurse Coordinator

The Stroke Research Unit demonstrates a commitment to Stroke Research by participating in worldwide multicentre drug trials and conducting unit based research. The team is made up of a dedicated and skilled group of medical practitioners and nursing staff.
The Stroke Research Unit conducts trials in acute therapy and secondary prevention. The focus of Acute Stroke Research is on early drug therapy intervention, aiming at minimising the damage to brain cells following a stroke. The secondary prevention trials focus on prevention of stroke, which includes lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol and administration of new anti-platelet agents.
Your new role:
- Undertake duties for current research trials, including Ethics/Governance submissions, site initiation, recruitment, scheduling visits, conducting assessments and reporting
- Participate in the daily workings of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Stroke Program
- Work with an experienced motivated team of neurologists, nurses and scientists
About you:
- Current registration as Registered Nurse in Victoria
- A basic understanding of the research process (new project submissions and amendments, Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reporting, essential documentation)
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in review and development of policies and procedures
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skill
