Westgate Community Initiatives Group Ltd. (WCIG) is an established, not for profit organisation that is committed to creating practical responses to unemployment and disadvantage across Melbourne and Geelong. Our mission is to empower people to achieve a meaningful role in society.

Our Disability Employment Services (DES) program provides tailored employment and education support to assist people in overcoming barriers to employment (such as illness, injury, or disability) to prepare for, find and maintain employment. Our DES team works towards the same, purpose-led goal of improving lives through dignity and choice. 

The result of this mindset speaks for itself: due to program growth, we have multiple newly created roles for experienced Site Managers to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. One position is available at each of our sites in Dandenong, Box Hill and Moorabbin.

 The role:

  • Build a high performing culture by developing the potential of your team through coaching and mentoring
  • Driving business development to grow your network and direct registrations, and facilitate successful placements
  • Meeting and exceeding team KPIs, contractual obligations and organisational objectives
  • Ensuring services are compliant with contract requirements and other relevant legislation 
  • Strategic approach to planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing all aspects of service delivery to achieve optimal participant outcomes at your site
  • Actively engage with key community and employer stakeholders to form strategic partnerships
  • Financial literacy is essential, as you will assist in budget review and forecasting to ensure financial viability of the program
  • Manage audit requirements and implement corrective actions as needed for continuous improvement
  • Liaise with community-based organisations and government departments to identify current gaps and needs, and identify potential growth areas

 About you:

  • Prior experience managing Employment Programs is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage a high performing team is required 
  • Current driver’s licence and Working with Children’s Check card (or ability to obtain one prior to commencement) is essential
  • Extensive knowledge of the local labour market and issues that affect participant engagement with education and employment
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business with an extensive network of industry contacts
  • Knowledge and understanding of contractual and operational requirements is essential in Employment Services, especially in adhering to compliance frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisational, administrative and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to recognise risks and implement contingency measures to alleviate them
