Role overviewThis role within our studio, works with a design manager, art director, and marketing and communications experts. While the team is highly collaborative and supportive, the role will require an innovative self-starter, with a continuous improvement mindset.
As a Design Consultant, you will contribute to creative efforts, innovation and excellence in graphic design across various platforms. The role requires a deep understanding of visual aesthetics and the ability to translate marketing strategies into compelling visual stories with support from your team. The successful candidate will work on creative projects, from concept to execution, ensuring brand alignment.
The ability to navigate between design thinking, hands-on design and client engagement and a working marketing knowledge will be advantageous. You will be required to have an existing understanding or willingness to embrace digital platforms to deliver innovative visual storytelling and creative executions.
You will work closely with experienced account managers to deliver client work, and will also engage directly with clients to help shape and define creative briefs.
Your day will involve juggling competing priorities and working across various industries.
You will report to the Director of Digital with day-to-day management from the Design Manager, who will establish a growth pathway based on your aspirations.
A day may include:- A daily studio meeting to align workflows, collaborate on tasks and set the daily objectives
- Attending client meetings to receive design briefs and workshop solutions
- Autonomously developing client design assets across a broad range of digital and print applications, such as brochures or social media artwork
- Working with Adobe creative cloud products
- Working on Figma and Adobe XD to deliver website designs for clients
- Working within digital platforms such as Squarespace and Maglr to design websites
- Contributing to the development of creative concepts for advertising and campaign work
- Balancing creative output, budgetary and time constraints Maintain ongoing communication with account managers regarding client needs, issues, and value-adding opportunities.
- Designing visualisations based on data sets
- Preparing documents for print and liaising with printers
- Attending and contributing to client brand strategies
- A deep understanding of working experience with Adobe creative cloud products including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
- Ability to think creatively and strategically
- Comfortable designing with data sets
- Establish and deliver on creative design briefs
- Familiarity with digital design principles and ability to apply design strategy to websites and social media channels
- Ability to take complex content and visualise this through design
- Comfort using digital platforms such as Squarespace, HubSpot and Mailchimp
- Detail orientated with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks
- A good work ethic and passion to achieve
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with evolving briefs.
