We are looking for a Design Manager to join our team in Osborne Park. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be assigned to lead the detailed design one of our many minerals projects.
Role Deliverables:
- Ensure compliance of project design products with the Design Procedure.
- Ensure design products comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and project requirements.
- Manage the multi discipline Design Team
- Ensure design products are delivered in accordance with the project schedule and budget.
- Provide a weekly update of design progress, issues, holds, change, risk, and deliverables register.
- Hold and minute weekly meetings as per the Design Procedure.
- Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects, including, cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary Degree in Engineering (ideally Mechanical).
- 10+ years' experience in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Design Manager on minerals projects.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (desired).
- Proven ability to manage a team of design professionals.
- Detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery within the minerals processing sector.
- Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
- Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices.
- Advanced level of expertise with engineering technical detail.
- Exceptional planning and organisation skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to continued professional development.
- Strong work ethic.
