About this role: Team Leader - WA Distribution Design

Brunel are delighted to announce we are seeking a Team Leader for the Lines and Cable team with our engineering client who offer specialist services to the electricity transmission and distribution networks in Australia and New Zealand for over 25 years. They provide innovative engineering solutions for electrical infrastructures such as generation, substations, transmission and distribution underground and overhead networks, and land and subdivision reticulation.

• The candidate must have experience of leading teams to scope, create specifications, designs, calculations, reports and drawings associated with the new or modification of distribution projects from 0.240kV – 33kV (overhead and underground). The candidate must have a power engineering background and have good client communication skills.
• In the role you will manage a team responsible for the production of project deliverables through a robust checking process but must also develop drawing office technical standards as per end client requirements, mentor and train the designers and, when work dictates, support the actual delivery of the projects.
• The candidate must be a strong leader, experienced in operating in a culturally diverse team and work without micro level supervision. This role will lead to management career paths as you develop with our client.

What you need to bring:
  • Previous/Current experience with Utility providers in Western Australia is a

Necessary requirement.

  • Responsible for all aspects of Occupational Health and Safety within the team including contractors.

  • Gradually improve engineering skill as a Senior Engineer, as per our clients competency matrix (Can produce project-specific deliverables for complex applications. Can verify & approve work performed by others).
  • Train and develop team members to adapt to our clients processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for performance management of the team.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing the client base.

  • Responsible for accurate estimating of projects to ensure profitability of the team.
  • Responsible for scheduling of projects to meet customer timelines.

  • Responsible for project managing all projects within the team.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing Quality Assurance for all projects within the team.

  • Undertake the role with a sense of passion for service excellence and contribute towards improved customer loyalty.
  • Contribute towards new ideas and initiatives that improve overall service performance of the team.

  • Take opportunities to reinforce the importance of serving customers and provide exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Uphold and continually develop positive relationships by fostering open communication with staff and colleagues.

• Play an active role in team activities and staff meetings to achieve business objectives
