AddressWe are seeking a creative and experienced Babywear Designer to take the reins in designing accessories, sleepwear and clothing for one of our established clients based in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
Their ranges are sold both in the Speciality stores and DDS market. There is an opportunity for permanent part time if this is what you require.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting in seasonal strategy and forecasting, colour direction.
• Researching and interpreting both local and global trends.
• Creating a commercial range that fits the brand aesthetic - Babywear.
• Managing tech packs for suppliers - costing / samples
• Adapting designs based on feedback and costing.
• Developing specs (shapes are simple) and managing sample comments with design team.
• Working with production to ensure timeous deliveries.
• Set quality standards across the business
• Analyse sales/post season review and interpret into next range
• Assist/contribute to photoshoots as required.
Skills & Experience required:
• Tertiary qualifications in fashion design.
• Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in a childrenswear/babywear design position.
• Good knowledge of specs, garment construction, print and fabrics.
• A good eye for colour, pattern, shape and detail.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator & photoshop.
• Strong grasp of manufacturing processes, from concept to final product.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
