Desktop Estimator | Insurance Building

Great opportunity for an Estimator to join a well established Construction business

The Company
Join this established Construction business, specialising in Insurance Repair and Strata work. Boasting long established relationships with Australia's major Insurance Companies and Loss Assessors. Due to strong demand, my client requires an additional Desktop Estimator (office based) to join their highly successful team on the Sunshine Coast.
The Role
You will be reporting to the Operations Manager, liaising with Estimators, Supervisors, Restoration staff, Safety Officer, Quality Manager & Administration staff. Flexible work from home arrangements are in place. You will have the responsibility to Desktop Estimate small construction projects/repairs as well as project coordinating larger construction projects and/or repairs. This will include the following tasks:• Produce accurate scopes of works

• Conduct desktop assessments and quotations for property damaged by insurable events, such as flood, fire etc.
• Assessing damage by collecting information to provide accurate causation reports
• Deliver accurate quotations
• An understanding of BCA and Australian standards is preferred
• Liaise between insurance companies and insured home owners.
• Assist customer service staff with client related queries.
• Compliance with OH&S and legal requirements
• Adherence to insurer and internal KPI’s

The Candidate

You will be a mature and experienced professional team player. We are looking for a candidate with some or all of the following:

• Previous experience in a similar position/ Insurance claims or trade background
• Excellent scheduling & organisational skills
• Excellent “people” skills and experience managing of sub-contractors
• Must be able to problem solve, be an analytical and strategic thinker and be a great communicator
• Excellent PC skills including Excel, Word and Email
• The ability to produce written reports when required
• A strong work ethic and to be able think ahead
• A team focus and thrive in a team environment
