About the Business
Beef Breeding Services is one of Australia’s most comprehensive and up to date, specialist, bovine genetic and reproduction centres. We operate an export Government approved bovine semen collection centre at Etna Creek, and two storage and dispatch centres at Rockhampton and Wacol. We provide beef reproductive services, including artificial insemination: semen collection, evaluation, processing and freezing services to seed stock producers. We also store, maintain and dispatch a large inventory of semen and embryos both domestically and overseas as well as import this material. Other services we provide are artificial insemination training, products and medications for reproductive programs.
About the Role
This position is for a Fulltime Despatch Officer and will be located at Beef Breeding Services, 25 Yeppoon Road, Rockhampton.
The role is predominantly a despatch and receival position, involving the handling of genetic material that is stored in liquid nitrogen.
- Locate, pack, dispatch and track shipments of genetic material
- Receival of genetic material and put into storage
- Completing accurate Packing Slips to do with the dispatch and receival of the genetic material.
- Ensuring the genetic material inventory records and database are accurate
- Liaise with freight companies
- Product and Service enquiries
- Completing end of month stocktakes on product for resale and Veterinary medications
- Completing stocktakes of customers genetic material
- Communicating with clients via phone and email
- Filling customers canisters and the BBS large storage vats with liquid nitrogen on a regular basis
Responsibilities
- Ensure exceptional communication with clients that is timely and professional
- Knowledge of the marketing semen so that can provide information to the customers
- Pack, unpack, receive, dispatch and track genetic material.
- Ensure all records of the genetic material transactions are recorded.
- Ensure the effective management of the genetic material inventory.
- Monitoring the genetic material storage tanks. Ensure all material is maintained under the strict standard operating procedures of the storage facility.

- Committed to the goal of providing excellence in reproductive services and supply of genetic material.
- Working with the Wacol staff in the provision of products needed by customers to conduct Fixed Time Artificial Insemination programs.
- Working with the Etna staff for the receival of semen collected on centre and for the dispatch of export semen
- Perform any additional tasks as directed by the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Officer.

Hours of Work
- Hours are 38 Hours per week, overtime maybe required with seasonality work requirements.
