About the company:
Our clients are a privately owned Australian company with a proud history of sourcing and supplying wholesale timber and building products to the marketplace. Through innovation and going beyond the norm, our clients have grown to be the largest independent distributor of timber products in Australia, delivering products to all corners of the country.
Key responsibilities:
- To lead the team, plan workload to meet daily and weekly transport goals
- To ensure that all safety and transport standards are met in line with company policy
- Manage the timely coordination of all local, regional or interstate deliveries including transfers between sites
- Manage and ensure that all driver's hours are log books are recorded where required as per legislative requirements
- Enter all transport invoices and scan delivery dockets into the system for processing and payment before end of month
- Manage all despatch consumables and process orders where necessary to maintain stock levels
- Manage all payroll related tasks including leave requests and approval of timesheets for all direct reports
Requirements
Key requirements:
- Despatch or logistics supervisor experience
- Load planning or scheduling supervisor experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and general computing skills
- Possess practical knowledge of products and services within the timber industry
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility, Basic Fatigue Management, Load Restraint and Safe Working Loads
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership qualities - Treat co-workers and customers with professionalism and respect
