The Role

Despatch Officer will support the administration activities required to deliver product to depots, customers and retail outlets within the zone and interstate. The position plays a vital role in executing transport operations' activities while liaising with other functions within the business autonomously.

Additional responsibilities in this role also include:

  • In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the driver paperwork aligns with the work scheduled and product loaded
  • You will liaise with the customer service, scheduler and/or account managers to support with customer enquiries and deliveries, connect with the drivers to communicate and execute the business requirements as they arise
  • In addition, you will process and assemble picklists for the loads, facilitate shipment inspection, settlements and trip confirmations
  • Responsible for admin data entry functions relevant to distributions
  • Monitor and evaluate driver compliance to use scanner for completion of the runs and report areas of improvement
  • Furthermore, you will be responsible for timely reporting of hazards, injuries, and accidents

Skills and experience we are looking for:

  • 1-3 years of experience in transport operations and despatch
  • In addition, you have Secondary School Certificate with Logistics diploma, certificate or equivalent (preferable)
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and processes and MS suite
  • Exposed to the use of scanners for deliveries
  • Finally, you will be adept in technology and have the ability to learn new IT systems
