One of Australia's principal Federal Government departments is looking to engage a skilled Developer (Java) to assist in the undertaking of activities at all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. The successful Developer (Java) will be offered a 12 month contract with 3 years of extensions!
The successful Developer (Java) will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Undertake production support work involving problem solving and troubleshooting errors that arise from the operation of business software systems.
- Stakeholder engagement and relationship management with business and technical stakeholders as required.
- Analysis/Design/Code/Test improvements to Oracle Middleware & Apps as directed.
The successful Developer (Java) will have experience in the following:
- Knowledge and practical experience in the development of web-based applications including Java, JEE, Oracle, JSF, REST, SOAP.
- Experience in delivering projects in a Federal Government environment with proven ability in current best practice techniques such as continuous integration and testing.
- Experience in conducting peer code review and testing.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively liaise with business users and development teams together with an ability to mentor other members of the development team.
