An exciting opportunity has become available for a Development Assessment Planner - Fast Track to join our dynamic and innovative Development and Building team within Georges River Council, based in Hurstville.

About the Role
As part of our dedicated and high performing Environment & Planning Directorate, the Development and Building team are responsible for the delivery of Building Code of Australia requirements and Building certification, Development Assessment and Pre-lodgment and specialist advice. The department facilitates quality, compliant, sustainable development across the LGA ranging from established urban areas, through to urban renewal activity centres, future growth areas and environmental sensitive significant areas.
In this role you will primarily focus on providing an improved and expanded Fast-Track Development Assessment Service for identified urgent applications (predominantly commercial and residential). As the Development Assessment Planner - Fast Track you will work with the team to assess and process development applications in accordance with statutory requirements and Council Policy. You will also contribute to implementing strategies dealing with development matters that impact on or influence the local government area. Further, you will provide advice and information to developers, and the community, on planning matters.

- Salary from $91,283.24 - $105,765.05 per annum plus 11% superannuation

The successful candidate will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or related discipline
- NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
- Current knowledge of Building or Town Planning practices, especially in Local Government.
- Experience in local government, building or planning organisations.
- Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with the community, the Councillors and other professionals involved in the development industry.
- Knowledge and understanding of WH&S and EEO policies and procedures.
