This full-time position is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about best practice compliance and enforcement processes and procedures aligning with WTC development resolution.
The role will undertake tasks to coordinate the compliance functions of the Development Services department of Council including responsibility for the investigation and resolution of enforcement for unauthorised building and development within the West Tamar municipality.
In this role, you will report to our Director Planning & Development and be part of an inclusive and professional team.
To assist you in performing this role, you will have:
- Well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, communication and interpersonal skills;
- Knowledge of and experience in administering Local Government regulatory processes including an understanding of relevant legislation and effective legal compliance processes;
- Evidence based decision making skills, demonstrated good judgment and outcomes focused;
- Well-developed computer literacy and skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook and the ability to develop and/or utilise record management systems and databases;
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) or willingness to obtain or equivalent;
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritise workloads;
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to supervise staff.
The West Tamar Council area includes the western side of the kanamaluka/Tamar Estuary from the suburban area of Riverside in Launceston and Trevallyn (part), extending north to Bass Strait and as far west as Frankford. Our Riverside Office is 8 minutes’ drive to the Launceston CBD.
