DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER
Develop a new career with Richmond Valley Council
The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of technical and administrative engineering work in connection with a wide variety of engineering projects and programs including water supply, sewerage floodplain management, roads and stormwater.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assess development proposals with regards to their potential impacts on the natural, built and social environment with specific consideration to engineering matters
- Assistance in the preparation and review of plans which will provide engineering controls in respect to developments and land use matters
- Prepare, develop and contribute to high level documentation related to development programs and projects in line with Council’s strategic objectives
- Provide advice and resolve issues on Development Engineering related matters, supporting decision making with internal stakeholders to Council projects
- Establish and support investigations and studies on development related matters
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes for the effective management of projects and service delivery
- Ensure Council registers and contribution plans are updated regularly
- Undertake a variety of inspections such as civil works, complaints, Roads Act assessments and new proposed sub-divisions
- A motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Someone who can exercise independent judgement in resolving highly sensitive and complex issues with regard to legal requirements and policies
- Someone who is flexible, adaptable and responsive to change and can work well within a small team and autonomously
We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field AND four years’ experience in a similar environment
- Class C Driver Licence
- Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
Full time: 70-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $91,743 to $105,502 pa + 11% super (Vehicle negotiable for the right candidate)
