The City of Ryde is a city on the move with major commercial and residential developments underway in many parts of our local government area. As a result, we have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer with a broad skill set.You will be a key member of the Development Assessment team and be responsible for providing specialist advice to internal and external stakeholders regarding Development Engineering and development related technical issues.This is an outstanding opportunity for you to use your engineering knowledge and expertise to facilitate engineering solutions associated with development, expedite the DA assessment process, and provide you with professional satisfaction and career life balance.About You
We are looking for a Civil Engineer who is committed to developing effective solutions to engineering problems related to development planning so such as to facilitate the assessment process for the community.Your excellent communication skills and ability to multitask will enable you to manage the diverse demands of this role effectively. You are someone who takes initiative, has a strong sense of responsibility, and is committed to delivering exceptional Development Engineering services.In addition, you will also have:
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Current Class C driver's licence
- A high level of effective written and oral communication skills
- A fundamental understanding of stormwater management, parking area design, traffic engineering, flooding, geotechnical, structural principals and subdivision principals associated with development.
- A fundamental understanding of Policies and legislation in relation to local government, environmental and planning
- Ability to identifying risk and issues associated with the engineering aspects of development and potentially arising in public domain areas from development.
- Stormwater modelling software such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, MUSIC
- Stormwater management concepts such as provision for failure modes, OSD design and WSUD treatments.
- Traffic and Parking analysis, including intimate knowledge of the relevant Australian Standards and Guidelines.
