The Role

Working with the Head of Scripted and the Commissioning Editor you will be a key team support and valued creative voice in our small but ambitious team.

This role will see you:

  • Building and maintaining systems and processes to support the Scripted Team to ensure a smooth flow of information.
  • Uncover and support the development of the most exciting new creative talent in the country.
  • Build and maintain rapport with the Australian Entertainment Industry.
  • Confidently contribute to the creative vision and projects for the Scripted team.
  • Work with the team to execute and support strategies and initiatives that support the SBS mandate to deliver innovative and world class television.
  • Deliver critical analysis and notes on content across the slate.
  • Manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adapt to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Continue to grow and develop yourself as a creative leader in the industry and an advocate for representation on our screens.

About you

Ideally, you will have :

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in scripted television development at a production company, network or streamer.
  • A BA degree in a related field, or relevant work experience.
  • A strong understanding of the domestic and international television space.

And be:

  • Passionate about elevating historically under-represented talent both in front of and behind the camera and have a deep understanding of the emerging talent in the screen industry.
  • Creative Minded and have a demonstrated track record of developing television drama.
  • Excellent craft skills in storytelling for screen and an understanding of the production process.
  • Committed to your ongoing learning and personal development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can confidently communicate with various stakeholders and talent.
  • Compassionate, kind and a team player, committed to supporting other to succeed.
