The Role
Working with the Head of Scripted and the Commissioning Editor you will be a key team support and valued creative voice in our small but ambitious team.
This role will see you:
- Building and maintaining systems and processes to support the Scripted Team to ensure a smooth flow of information.
- Uncover and support the development of the most exciting new creative talent in the country.
- Build and maintain rapport with the Australian Entertainment Industry.
- Confidently contribute to the creative vision and projects for the Scripted team.
- Work with the team to execute and support strategies and initiatives that support the SBS mandate to deliver innovative and world class television.
- Deliver critical analysis and notes on content across the slate.
- Manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously and adapt to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Continue to grow and develop yourself as a creative leader in the industry and an advocate for representation on our screens.
About you
Ideally, you will have :
- A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in scripted television development at a production company, network or streamer.
- A BA degree in a related field, or relevant work experience.
- A strong understanding of the domestic and international television space.
And be:
- Passionate about elevating historically under-represented talent both in front of and behind the camera and have a deep understanding of the emerging talent in the screen industry.
- Creative Minded and have a demonstrated track record of developing television drama.
- Excellent craft skills in storytelling for screen and an understanding of the production process.
- Committed to your ongoing learning and personal development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can confidently communicate with various stakeholders and talent.
- Compassionate, kind and a team player, committed to supporting other to succeed.
