Legal Professional - Specialist

Peabody is guided by seven core values: safety, customer focus, leadership, people, excellence, integrity and sustainability.About the roleWorking in an effective internal legal function, you will work closely with, and report to our General Counsel, Executive and partner with site leadership across a broad mix of work, focussed on supporting the company's existing (and future) Australian operations, including:

• Providing legal advice regarding contractual arrangements for new operations or expansions/modifications to existing site operations;
• Providing legal advice on environmental law, approvals, mining and exploration related tenure, property etc.;
• Providing legal advice on native title and cultural heritage matters;
• Providing legal advice on health and safety matters;
• Coordinating and managing expert external counsel in the areas of health and safety, regulatory approvals, environment, mining tenure, real property, native title etc; and
• Management of site-based litigation where required.

The lifestyle:This position is offered on a Monday to Friday basis, working from our Fortitude Valley office with working from home options. Peabody offers flexible start / finish times and 'redistributed working week' giving employees flexibility to finish at noon on Friday's.About you:To be considered for this role you will have:

• Admitted to practice with 8-10 years of experience.
• Experience in managing complex legal issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate with people in a range of positions.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong business acumen, solution focused and commercial minded.
• Strong organisational, time management and attention to detail
