This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Development Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team in the heart of New South Wales. Our client is an independent Australian-owned mining company with a diverse portfolio of approved projects.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, the Development Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in delivering Mechanical Engineering support that ensures the safe and efficient operation of the mine.
Key Objectives:
Lead the procurement and overhaul of development equipment.
Provide supporting leadership for the Senior Mechanical Engineer in directing development and broader engineering team activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership in site readiness for development operations.
Development and implementation of maintenance strategies.
Management of mechanical safety and compliance for development equipment.
Technical lead (mechanical) for equipment and automation.
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
Manage and coordinate mechanical resources to achieve production, process, and maintenance targets.
Budget development and cost control.
Support the Development Superintendent in achieving business targets.
Mechanical Tradespeople as required.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Mechanical engineering qualification (or currently in progress with a mechanical trade certificate).
Minimum of 5 years' experience in underground coal mines.
Detailed knowledge of longwall technical and operational practices.
Sound report writing skills.
