Task & Responsibilities
  • Developing Sports Programs: Designing, planning, and implementing sports programs aimed at various demographics within the community, including youth, adults, seniors, and special populations.
  • Promoting Participation: Actively promoting sports participation and physical activity through marketing campaigns, outreach efforts, and community events.
  • Facility Management: Overseeing the management and maintenance of sports facilities, ensuring they are safe, accessible, and adequately equipped for various activities.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Building and maintaining relationships with local schools, clubs, community organizations, government agencies, and sports governing bodies to foster partnerships and facilitate collaborative initiatives.
  • Coaching and Training: Providing coaching, training, and skill development sessions for individuals and groups across different age groups and skill levels.
  • Inclusivity and Diversity: Ensuring that sports programs and activities are inclusive and accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities and marginalized communities.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring the effectiveness and impact of sports programs through data collection, evaluation, and feedback mechanisms, and making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing budgets for sports programs, ensuring financial resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Event Planning and Management: Organizing and managing sports events, competitions, and tournaments, including logistical arrangements, volunteer coordination, and participant registration.
  • Policy Development: Contributing to the development of sports policies, guidelines, and procedures at the organizational or community level to support the growth and sustainability of sports initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Engaging with the local community to understand their needs, preferences, and interests related to sports and physical activity, and incorporating their input into program planning and development.
  • Qualification & Experience
    • A qualification in a relevant field such as sports coaching or sports management;
    • 3+ years’ experience coaching in a

    High Performance/High Performance pathways environment;

    • Experience with Performance Analysis software – Sports code/HUDL/GPS/My TP Hockey Australia;
    • Hockey Coaching Accreditation;
    • Preferred working rights in Australia;
    • Current Driver’s License;
    • First Aid qualification;
    • Current ACT

    Working with Vulnerable People Registration.

    Hockey ACT (HACT) is the not-for-profit state sporting organisation responsible for the development, governance, promotion and delivery of hockey programs within the ACT. HACT comprises of 22 member clubs and owns and operates two facilities The National Hockey Centre at Lyneham and Tuggeranong Hockey Park, Greenway.
