The Senior Product Development Officer is responsible for scoping, researching, creating, and coordinating the delivery of commercially viable products that appeal to current and potential markets for collectibles. They will manage products from inception to completion, working collaboratively with relevant departments within the Mint to ensure product objectives are achieved and programs are delivered to budget, in full and on time.
The Senior Product Development Officer works independently or with subject specialists and licence holders on the development of authentic special interest coin programs. They also coordinate and manage currency determination submissions on behalf of the branch.
The successful applicant is required to work full-time.
The duties of this position include:
1. Identifying suitable themes, events, and anniversaries to commemorate on coin.
2. Preparing and presenting new business cases based on research and analysis.
3. Preparing product financials for cost and revenue forecasting.
4. Undertake market research and product validation testing.
5. Developing and managing project plans, including accurate documentation of business cases and risk assessments, and managing timelines and deliverables.
6. Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coin, packaging and presentation materials meet budget, quality standards and delivery dates.
7. Reviewing coin and packaging designs to ensure compliance with briefs, program partner and/or licensor guidelines.
8. Proof reading and fact-checking copy on product packaging and promotional materials.
9. Managing currency determination schedules and drafting requirements.
