The Role:
As a Diabetes Educator at MBPH, you will provide a primary health care focused diabetes education service to identified population groups.
Your duties will include; assessment, planning, early detection, referral, monitoring and maintenance and direct care to individuals, families, groups and communities. The role includes inpatient and outpatient management of clients with Diabetes.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Post graduate qualification in Diabetes Education and credentialed with Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) or working towards this requirement
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated high level clinical experience in the acute health setting with advanced patient assessment skills and chronic disease management
- Awareness of current issues and trends in relation to clinical practice, chronic disease management, education and research
- Previous Experience in Diabetes Management is desirable but not essential
