What you'll be doing
The Diabetes Prevention Program Manager reports to the Director, Western Sydney Diabetes (WSD) and plays a pivotal role in managing and advancing the Western Sydney Diabetes Prevention Program. The manager is tasked with spearheading initiatives within the WSD Framework of Action, cultivating strategic alliances, and driving the execution of the annual plan in collaboration with WSD's senior leaders and alliance partners.

  • Program Leadership: Direct oversight of the WSD Prevention Program, encompassing initiatives like Western Sydney Changing Diabetes (WSCD), Priority Culture and Place-Based Programs, Healthy Built Environment, and Early Detection strategies.
  • Team Integration: Integral part of the WSD Core team, reporting directly to the WSD Director and operating under the guidance of the WSD Executive Management Team (EMT).
  • Alliance Management: Management of the WSD Alliance, engaging with 140 allied organizations to foster collaborative efforts in Diabetes Prevention.
  • Program Development and Reporting: Collaborates within WSD to formulate, execute, and refine the Prevention Program's strategies. Responsible for the annual reporting of progress, with insights derived from the latest WSD Year-in-Review document, highlighting key achievements and future directions.

Selection Criteria: * Proven track record in leading community-based prevention initiatives with multi-sector engagement.
  • In-depth understanding of the health neighbourhood landscape, including expertise in chronic disease prevention and lifestyle intervention programs.
  • Skilled in engaging diverse stakeholders for collaborative prevention efforts.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic business and operational planning within health program contexts.
  • Current NSW Class C drivers license and willingness to use for work purposes.
