DIESEL FITTER WANTED - DIDO

Carlon Heavy Diesel is a small family run business based in Croydon in the Gulf Of Carpentaria.

We service the surrounding cattle stations, local earthmoving & civil contractors as well as one off breakdowns etc.

We are searching for another qualified Diesel Fitter experienced in earthmoving equipment & roadtrains preferably, to carry out breakdowns & planned maintenance & repairs around the Gulf.

We offer a rostered position, 10/4, 9/5 or 2/1 drive in drive out, airconditioned accommodation and a field service vehicle while at work. We are a young small crew with a wide variety of work, mostly being in field. We enjoy a beer after work and on days off fishing/waterskiing at the local Lake Belmore & are very much involved in local events such as the Poddy Dodgers Rodeo and campdraft etc. If you enjoy the bush, and don't like being confined to a workshop daily this position may suit you, you could be fixing a broken down dozer 150km from town one day then on a cattle station 200km the opposite direction the next.

                 - Have own basic hand/battery tools - Large tooling will be supplied 

                 -Be neat and tidy

 

In this position you will be required to tend to breakdowns, majority of them without phone reception. You need to be able to think on your feet and fault find without the aid of google, although a large portion of the breakdowns are fairly simple repairs, we will generally work together to diagnose any technical faults etc, you won't be left in the dark & expected to fix everything on your own.

We work a standard 11hr day, though some days require early starts & late finishes to get the jobs done. We have a small workshop in town, and occasionally carry out some maintenance & repairs on 4wd light vehicles, mostly being landcruisers.

The position is being offered as casual at $50hr.
