Job description

Nutrition and Dietetics Department at QEII Jubilee Hospital are looking for a Dietitian Nutritionist to join their team. This position will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team to deliver Nutrition and Dietetic services to patients within the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Health Service District, appropriate with level of experience, and to other stakeholders/customers of department and Queensland Health to achieve excellence in patient care, education and research.

About the Role:

  • Manage an allocated workload to deliver nutrition and dietetic services, including assessment, intervention and evaluation within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with established clinical and departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of senior staff
  • Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to complex clinical nutrition decision making under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of senior staff
  • Continually develop clinical practice knowledge, skills and expertise through self-directed learning, active learning within a team environment and engaging in professional development activities, including participating in the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) program and performance appraisal and development plans.
  • Liaise with Nutrition Assistants, nursing and medical colleagues, and provide direction where appropriate with respect to screening for malnutrition, and organising and monitoring patient's nutrition support to ensure a high quality nutrition service
  • Participate in the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of quality and service improvement and/or research activities that enhance the delivery of nutrition and dietetic services
