An exciting opportunity exists for the Dietitian - Senior to deliver high level psychosocial, nutrition and dietetic clinical services and leadership across one or more specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health (SCHHS).
The Child Healthy Lifestyle Program is a community-based program supporting families with children aged 2-13 years who are identified as being overweight or are picky eaters with limited diet. The team consists of a physiotherapist and a dietitian and is currently supported by a psychologist and child health nurses. Services are mainly delivered in the home environment with some clinic visits as indicated.
The Healthy Lifestyle Program teamwork with a transdisciplinary approach to meet clinical demand in keeping with Clinical Prioritisation Document. Staff may be required to rotate across SCHHS as per Allied Health Rotation Guidelines.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • To engage and empower families to make Healthy Lifestyle changes and choices
  • Support clients development of parenting practices for positive behavioural and lifestyle changes
  • Deliver person-centred care within the transdisciplinary team, with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.
  • Support and develop community engagement with Healthy Lifestyles service.
Remuneration value up to $152,776 p.a., comprising salary rates $62.75 - $67.53 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (part time position, 30.4 hrs p.f.).
