About you

We are looking for a Digital Account Director with 6-8 years of agency project management experience.

You have an executive presence and an impactful communication style that motivates others and actively nurtures a positive team environment.

Who are WE looking for? 

The Digital Account Director is a critical day-to-day lead on high-profile digital projects and retainers. Specifically, you will lead client relationships across a mix of mainly Health, Tech and Corporate clients, be comfortable mentoring a team and be confident in counselling clients across an omni channel digital offering. This is a key role within the agency, someone who leads and manages across several workstreams and is truly integrated into our client’s business, directly responsible for every aspect of the day-to-day management of your client campaigns. 

Your responsibilities 

  • Autonomously manage all project deliverables associated with key accounts, clients and your team. 
  • Responsible for upholding the quality of work produced and delivered to clients (internal and external) in line with best practice, brief requirements and channel policy. 
  • Be a core facilitator and liaison for Digital to core company verticals (Health, Tech, CRBP/Corp/Investor Teams)
  • Support direct reports and junior specialists on accounts to drive quality and execution on channel in line with brief and expectations of client and industry best practice.
  • Confidently take ownership of your account’s financial processes from budget estimates, SOW development through to pacing of digital campaigns, tracking of externals and reconciliations.
  • Influence, inspire and engage the team to utilise the best and latest Digital methods and tools to be competitive and agile. 
  • Partner with the Lead Strategist and Lead Creative in determining the best solutions to map to clients’ business problems. 
  • Build strong relationships with multi-levels of internal and external clients, particularly at the senior executive level to ensure client retention and growth.
  • Support the development and writing of RFPs and new business presentations, playing a significant role in the presentation.
  • Be a proactive driver of WE in Australia representing the business at conferences, events, and in outreach to new leads.
  • Facilitate cross-team and specialist consultations to assure appropriate strategies, adequacy of input, schedules, budgets, production support, reviews, and client presentations. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

What sets YOU apart? 

Ideally, you will possess the following skills and attributes: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Media & Communications, Marketing, Digital Performance or applicable field is preferred 
  • 6-8 years of agency project management experience required 
  • Experience in a fast-paced deliverable organisation (agency or in-house environment) with client engagement and management experience. 
  • Experience across working within the health space preferred
  • Proven success in delivery of multiple deliverables without sacrificing quality and fidelity 
  • Proven history of client engagement including presentations and collection of client feedback 
  • Proficiency across all major Digital channels of Google Analytics, at least 1x CRM platform and CMS proficiency across Wordpress
  • Paid advertising and insights tracking experience across all major social platforms including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), YouTube, Google Ads and TikTok
  • Experience across aggregated reporting and insights dashboards e.g. SproutSocial, Khoros
  • SEO and keyword planning experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (particularly Outlook, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Excel) 
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Client and business environment:  Customer service orientation is a must.  Job pressure may exist from requirement of handling multiple tasks
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week on occasion
  • Experience working globally or with colleagues in multiple locations
  • Strong presentation and consulting skills along with the ability to read, write and speak English 

Essential Criteria

  • High-level information technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • Take a data-driven approach to campaign planning, optimisation and measurement across the digital marketing ecosystem
  • Collaborate with the team to develop comprehensive measurement and tracking plans to measure performance in order to identify key audience and brand trends
  • Be responsible for the financial management of accounts including accurate cost estimates, forecasting, timely invoicing and capacity planning 
  • Works to drive new business and strategic account growth efforts in partnership with the Director of Digital and Department Heads in order to grow the agency's integrated marketing and communications business
  • Focus on attraction, development and retention of staff; help lead educational and skills-based training efforts across office and account teams

Required Skills and Competencies

  • An understanding of how to deploy methodology and expertise from Insights/Data & Analytics, Planning, Creative, Content, Digital across the sector communications spectrum.
  • Actively involved in all aspects of business management, including revenue growth and profitability of clients. 
  • Strong understanding of the future of integrated communications and how agency IP and strategy and insights can present a roadmap for the future. 
  • Executive presence and an impactful communication style that motivates others.
  • Diplomatic, high influencing capability and persuasive approach to change.
  • Active on social platforms and able to use profile for business impact.

  • Must be able to work with teams across various geographic locations (virtual team structures). 
  • Fast-paced team environment (frequent tight deadlines, multitasking, etc.).
  • Open office environment with a growing and diverse team (flat structure).

Additional Current Responsibilities and KPI’s

To drive organic and new growth for the digital marketing and integrated communications team.

  • Responsible for the strategic direction and growth of client accounts and overseeing the day-to-day management of accounts.
  • Responsibility for management of client account budgets and for the business unit’s overall financial performance, including achieving set minimum business targets.
  • Capable of identifying, understanding and satisfying clients’ needs and resolve problems as required.
  • Ability to independently manage client budgets, including achieving set minimum business targets.
  • Experience and confidence to provide clients with strategic counsel on day-to-day issues and add value by identifying new ideas and opportunities for clients.
  • Ability to independently manage client issues and negotiations and responsible for organic client growth.
  • Responsible for delivering – without supervision – client service that is consistent with WE’s standards.

Providing strategic digital marketing direction to clients & new business pursuits across all teams agency-wide

  • A deep understanding of the digital marketing capability (social, web, search, email marketing), and how it works with traditional PR.
  • Support the execution of the digital business plan for WE, as led by the Director of Digital.
  • Coordinate, deliver and advance WE’s capability in digital marketing, with a focus on sharing knowledge and best practice across the organisation. 
  • Ensure you stay up to date with the latest trends and developments within digital and ensure the wider team’s digital and social knowledge is increased.
  • Confidence in developing the right digital approach to a specific client program or objective.
  • Work across teams to understand how digital and social media strategies are being implemented within and outside the organization, and drive the sharing of knowledge across company on current and best practice; 
  • Provide a digital / social media service internally which includes providing meaningful input into proposals for existing and prospective clients and input into client campaign implementation.
  • Work with the marketing team to coordinate WE’s own social media / digital media presence including blog posts, social media, etc.
  • Identify relevant training opportunities for WE staff in social and digital marketing and support the EMT in sourcing new digital talent.
  • Identify and coordinate relevant supplier / partner relationships that have the ability to enhance WE’s digital offering to clients. 
  • Ultimately drive additional revenue for WE through the implementation of digital work for existing and new clients.

More efficiently deliver production work, in collaboration with Strategy and Creative, to grow the agency’s production portfolio.

  • Provide overall strategic direction and advice for the management and implementation of production projects alongside digital campaigns.
  • Manage timelines and team deliverables. 
  • Work independently on allocated production projects including setting strategic direction, timelines, etc. 
  • Leading the development of brand client proposals and plans including brand strategy development.

Become a strong, independent leader within the digital team and across the agency. 

  • Actively nurture encourage a positive team environment.
  • Mentor and manage junior staff and contribute positively to the agency’s culture.
  • Play an active role in planning resourcing and capacity.
  • Well-developed negotiation and conflict management skills.

Grow digital marketing revenue.

  • Actively research and identify opportunities for organic growth and new business opportunities.
  • Capable of researching, writing and editing new business proposals including generating new ideas.
  • Expected to proactively contribute to the future direction and development of new business at a strategic level and lead staff in identifying, researching and preparing new business proposals.
  • Ability to lead group brainstorms including preparing briefing document for participants and generating ideas and discussion.
  • Capability to transform brainstorm ideas into workable concepts for new business presentations.
  • Well-developed presentation skills and confidence in presenting and autonomously leading new business presentations.
  • Well connected with solid ability to leverage connections to drive new business – securing opportunities to submit proposals or pitch – ultimately win the business. 
  • Contribute to the promotion and growth of WE as a company through new business ideas and processes. 
  • Ensure the organic growth of the business unit.
