Job description

The Wilderness Society is working for a future that does not rely on continued destruction of nature and our climate, but rather flourishes because of our responsible stewardship of these core life support systems. We value organisational independence and integrity.
Be part of a team that’s secured some of the biggest wins for Australian wilderness and nature: stopping the damming of the Franklin River forty years ago, keeping big oil out of the Great Australian Bight, or defending special forests the length and breadth of this continent.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Digital Engagement Producer is focused on developing, producing, project managing and publishing innovative and engaging content that inspires people to take action for nature.
You will work with the team to build the number of people engaging and converting on the website - things like taking campaign actions, sharing stories, buying a t-shirt or joining us as a donor or volunteer.
You will work on marketing and projects that make people aware of the big issues and lead them to action.
HOW WILDERNESS SOCIETY SUPPORTS OUR STAFF
Our approach to diversity is about embracing everyone. From building a culture where all employees can bring their best selves to work to deploying initiatives that support the different needs of our staff, we are proud to be part of building an inclusive world for all.
We are a supportive and inclusive workplace with excellent conditions, including:
Five weeks of annual leave per year
Genuine flexibility in working hours and location with financial support for office and/or remote working
15 days personal leave
3 additional leave days at end of year
Floating public holidays
Generous Paid parental leave (subject to eligibility conditions)
Commitment to supporting your professional development
Access to Long Service Leave after five years of continuous service
Access to our Employee Assistance Program
Regular 1:1 meetings for coaching and management support
Performance conversations for reflections and growth
When you start, a co-developed initial 3 month work plan
IS THIS FOR YOU?
We’d love to have you if you:
Have a can-do attitude, with the ability to learn new skills and adapt to new contexts quickly
Can drive your own areas of work
Are ready to take up the invitation and the challenge of the role
Are comfortable working to rapid response timelines
Are eager to grow your skills, experience and the organisation’s impact
Are able to give and apply feedback
Bring a dedication to transforming Australia into a society that protects, respects and connects with the natural world that sustains us.
If you identify as a First Nations person, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, a person with a disability, a person of colour, or if you are from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, we strongly encourage you to apply.
View the position description that details the essential and desired skills.
Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia to be considered for the role.
