The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) plays a critical role in the national transport supply chain and in the overall economic development of Australia. Managing and operating more than 8,500 km of track in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland, makes ARTC one of Australia's largest rail network owners.
The Inland Rail Program is a 1600km rail infrastructure project stretching from Brisbane to Melbourne incorporating new and existing rail track. The program includes the upgrading of existing standard gauge track, the enhancement of existing standard gauge track to cater for double stacking and the construction of new standard gauge links comprising of viaducts, tunnels, rail track, crossings and bridges. About the opportunity
As the Digital Engineering Specialist you will drive the effective implementation of Digital Engineering processes within the Inland Rail Program. You will provide sound, efficient, and timely advice, support and training on the Digital Engineering aspects of the Inland Rail (IR) Program with a focus on integrated delivery of Digital Engineering services.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain Digital Engineering strategies aligned with project objectives.
- Manage design and documentation manuals, ensuring compliance with employer requirements.
- Act as a liaison between project teams, technical advisors, and service providers to optimise Digital Engineering integration.
- Define and implement data quality processes, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations.
- Oversee data management and validation within project information models
Facilitate design coordination and spatial planning through workflow integration. - Conduct data analysis, generate reports, and lead integration with commercial and PMO as needed.
- Develop and deliver training programs for project delivery teams on Digital Engineering tools and systems.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, strategic planning abilities, and strong communication skills to support the delivery of Digital Engineering across all project phases.
About you
With experience in large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the transportation or construction sector you should have a strong understanding of Digital Engineering principles, including CAD and BIM integration, and a track record of successfully implementing Digital Engineering strategies.
Additionally you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience in Digital Engineering, particularly in integrated CAD and BIM delivery.
- Strong understanding of safety management systems, environmental regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder management and collaboration.
- Ability to analyse data, generate reports, and conduct digital design reviews.
Proficiency in negotiation with external stakeholders, contractors, and consultants. - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field qualifications.
