We have an exciting opportunity for an 8-week temporary position within a local council.
Your new role
What you'll need to succeed
- Develop a strong digital communications plan to support the City's overarching and informing strategies.
- Manage all social media channels to ensure validity of content, monitor and respond to social media interactions, and curate content leveraging current social media trends.
- Develop, monitor and maintain a content and campaign calendar.
- Plan, generate and execute strategic content tailored to audiences across website, social media, advertising, electronic direct mail (EDM).
- Produce regular analytic insights and reports, to demonstrate digital platform effectiveness and inform future communications and marketing activities.
- Respond to social media comments and instant messages with accurate, customer-focussed replies, sourced from relevant departments.
- Work with key stakeholders to align communications activities and drive brand awareness across digital media platforms.
- Provide social media and digital campaign advice to key stakeholders.
- Manage digital advertising campaigns across all channels and mediums.
- Coordinate the City's website content to ensure it's engaging and is SEO optimised, in collaboration with the City's web champion team.
- Produce marketing collateral, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the development and delivery of communication and marketing materials.
- Develop and foster key relationships with external partners, creatives and designers.
- Assist with the management and production of electronic digital assets, including graphics, photographs and videos.
- Undertake other media and communication activities as directed by the Manager, Communications and Marketing.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level and scope of this position, as directed.
What you need to succeed
Qualifications, Training & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, editing and publishing engaging digital content (websites, newsletters, social media).
- Experience with digital systems including content management, email marketing systems and understanding of web content building systems.
- Ability to execute and assess analytical reporting.
- Proven experience in drafting and contributing to contemporary media and communication plans.
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or other related field.
- Possession of current C Class Drivers Licence
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate
