Job description

We are seeking a dynamic leader with a continuous improvement mindset and a strong background in digital Communications and marketing to join our vibrant and rapidly growing organisation. A highly innovative company who is frequently trying new things and utilising various forms of software to allow for automation and scalability. They bring on new ideas quickly and have ambitious plans for rapid international expansion.

The primary purpose of this role is to enhance our impact on mental health by developing and executing a comprehensive communication and marketing strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving content creation, managing digital campaigns, and ensuring effective engagement with our diverse audience. They will provide strategic leadership, leverage digital platforms, oversee content across multiple channels, and inspire connection to our cause. This full-time position, reporting directly to the CEO, is contracted until November 2025, with the potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement communications strategies, project management plans, and frameworks to achieve organisational, engagement, and mental health impact objectives.
  • Supporter Journey Planning: Create and deliver detailed supporter journey plans, including audience-specific content, to support events.
  • Analytics and Measurement: Use analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies and adjust based on performance metrics.
  • Storytelling: Craft compelling narratives to inspire connection with our cause.
  • Content Oversight: Plan, develop, and implement all communications content (website, social media, EDMs, mobile app), campaigns, PR, and media initiatives.
  • Digital Platform Management: Ensure high-quality content and brand alignment across all communications, marketing, and Digital engagement platforms.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Identify and implement innovative communication, PR, and marketing initiatives to cost-effectively deliver outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the Communications and PR team, providing technical support, best practice advice, and process improvements.
  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Manage social media channels, online advertising, and email campaigns.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with beneficiaries, partners, and consultants.
  • Supplier Management: Oversee supplier contracts, ensuring performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent vision, values, and identity positioning.
  • Operational and Strategic Decision-Making: Make key operational decisions, manage plans and budgets, and support the CEO and board in developing strategic direction.
Skills and Expertise

Essential:

  • 10+ years in strategic communications, marketing, and brand initiatives with a strong digital focus.
  • Experience leading a marketing and communications team.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical, problem-solving, and creative skills.
  • Proficient in social media management, trends, and innovations.
  • Experienced with Campaign Monitor or equivalent, including email marketing strategies and audience segmentation.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Stakeholder and agency management experience.
  • Proficient in digital platforms (social media, Canva, websites, CMS, CRMs, apps).
  • Strong data, statistics, and insights application skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience in communications system improvement.
  • Strong brand management experience.
